It’s taken me some time to come up with a Mission Statement.
I wrote one when I first opened my business and then put it in a drawer because I just didn’t like it. I knew what I wanted it to convey, but I wasn’t sure how to say it. I read lots of mission statements, but most of the time it was as clear as mud as to what the mission was. Most of them sounded lofty with an over use of words. That was exactly how mine sounded–clear as mud.
Finally I looked up mission statement, a Good mission statement should be clear, concise and useful……and say what the organization does. I happened to see the mission statement for TED: Spreading Ideas. Two simple little words, but it said it ALL.
As I sat and mulled over the idea of two words, I whispered outloud, what do I do….and without thinking, I said it. I said it outloud again louder. It was so simple that it brought to mind the old KISS acronym: Keep it simple, stupid. I chuckled to myself because it is so sweet and simple:

- By retaining our customer base through excellent customer service;
- By being an invaluable source of information to our customers;
- By bringing honor to our industry.
So please give me a call if your mission is to be insured. 🙂
